UPDATE Regarding Adoption During the U.S. Government Shutdown

In the wake of the U.S. Government Shutdown, the Office of Children’s Issues under the State Department will remain open and operable for the time being. This news came following an emergency alert posted to the State Department website on January 20th stating that services will continue “as the situation permits”. The U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services confirmed this morning that both domestic and international adoptions shall continue to progress and will provide updates if there are any further changes.
